Alternate Timeline Addition: Necro-Romancin'

Posted May 23, 2010 6:18:33 - No Comments

Another weekend, another excellent recording sessions. With no fake enthusiasm I can say that I think that these recordings are among our best yet. We're all really looking forward to sharing the songs. One even includes a wah-pedal and a Slash-inspired (this one, not this one) guitar solo.  Really, its going to be excellent.  Ya'll got no idea.

Alternate Timeline Addition: Friendship Island

Posted May 4, 2010 3:15:37 - No Comments

We had another good day of recording and perfecting the new set of songs last weekend. I'm extremely excited to have them finished so we can share them with everyone. The styles are a bit all over the place. One is a great funk/dance/disco song, another a Ramones style jam, and a third a "for-the-back-row" stadium, sing-along song that'd make U2 proud.

One Done on the New EP

So, this NEW LAST LOST EP is turning out to be excellent. We met this weekend to finish up recording an initial mixing for the first song we'll be putting on the release. This new song, coincidentally, is a new version of The Redheaded Stranger off the first album, but this time a little less faux-country and a little bit more skate-punk rock and roll.  (possible new genre: island-punk?)

Project Lodge Show Complete Success: New EP is Underway

Posted March 29, 2010 12:00:11 - No Comments

So, how about that new LOST season and episode. Its really something else!

In other, more SWF related news, we're fresh from playing the Project Lounge and we had a blast playing with Doug and the rest of the Soup Nazis, who, to be honest, really didn't seem to pull their weight that night.  Doug / Art Vandelay really stole the show, especially with the incredible and completely unexpected cover of Sparks's Pineapple.  What a great show!

New Show: The Project Lodge (Madison)

Posted March 5, 2010 12:12:31 - No Comments

after last weekend's game changing pair of shows at Slivie's Lounge in Chicago and the Bayview Brew Haus in Milwaukee, SWF will continue to flip the script, this time at The Project Lodge in Madison.  We'll be playing with Madison's own Soup Nazi, along with who knows who else.  We should be starting 8ish, and we'll be listening to a lot of hip-hop before going to on to hype ourselves up.  Come along why not?

Alternate Timeline Addition: Nathan's Problem

Posted February 25, 2010 5:17:14 - No Comments

Wow! Back to back to back to back to back excellent Alternate Timeline additions. New one today is a song that Jason wrote, but which I said I didn't feel comfortable playing.  Its called "Nathan's Problem," and if you thought that problem was being stuck on the middle of a time traveling island with a smoke monster that hulks out at the site of human blood, well, you're clearly not thinking big enough.  Nathan's main problem is his pooping.

Alternate Timeline Addition: Offensive Roots

Posted February 24, 2010 2:14:52 - 2 Comments

Extra special addition today!  "Offensive Nicknames" is one of our danciest songs, and metronome + piano is one of the danciest instrument combinations known to man (and wyman) kind.  Thats why we're excited to share this orignal, demo version of Offensive Nicknames, performed by Patrick on piano, Patrick on electric guitar, and battery power on metronome.  Hope you enjoy it!

Alternate Timeline Addition: Live Kate + No One 4 Eva! (Live)

Posted February 23, 2010 11:11:58 - No Comments

New Alternate Timeline Addition ya'll!

This one is reaching for the bleachers, along with other such lofty goals.  Its a live recording of Kate + No One 4 Eva from our last show at Mutiny in Chicago.  Its got distortion, charmin' banter from Patrick, and all around sounds great.  Wonder your mouse curser over that way, why don't you?

Gapers Block article

This morning Shelia Burt charmed her way into our heart, forever and always, with her interview of us in Gapers Block. Its long, respectful of cultural differences, and much appreciated! If you've got eyes in your head and a LOST DVD on your bookshelf, you owe it to someone to take a look.
